Salt Lake City, UT (Jan. 28, 2021) –
Renewlogy installed equipment and designed systems over the past 12 months to allow it to process a much broader range of plastic waste feedstock. The goal of the pilot project was to find a solution for processing mixed plastics with multiple layers, flexible plastics and contaminated waste streams.
Plastics were sourced from a wide range of sources spanning both post-municipal and post-industrial streams, as well as from drop-off locations. Preliminary data suggests that in the future it will be feasible for Renewlogy to start accepting this material beyond the regular clean mixed rigid bales it currently accepts.
Renewlogy is now in the process of scaling this pilot project at its Salt Lake City demonstration facility and in the future deploying it at its other sites, including its upcoming project with the City of Phoenix.
